Place4Hope

Place4Hope marks Rosetta Life’s second venture into engaging a global community of young individuals on issues close to their hearts which we worked on. The inaugural project, Room2Dream, launched in 2022, explored the concept of home in the aftermath of the pandemic and was presented as an immersive film experience.

This initiative extends our digital innovation programme, empowering 30 young leaders aged 13 to 20 to collaboratively engage in creative endeavours that catalyse climate action and advocate for climate justice.  Rooted in the genesis of Room2Dream, which fostered empathy and understanding through peer-led poetry exchanges, Place4Hope now boasts a network of 20 partners across the globe.

We have presented Place4Hope at the following prestigious events (click the links for more details):

Additionally, we took part in the Dive into Wellbeing Cities: Summit in Athens, Greece. You can read the Report HERE.

The Pillars of Place4Hope encompass five key areas:

  • Health, recognizing the climate crisis as a fundamental healthcare emergency;
  • Science, emphasising knowledge and evidence-based approaches to tackle complex challenges;
  • Art, using creative expression to communicate climate justice and empower youth, as exemplified by the UN Climate Change’s Entertainment & Culture for Climate Action alliance;
  • Climate Justice & Advocacy, promoting environmental equity and empowering individuals to combat climate change; and
  • Young People & Leadership, fostering leadership skills and empowering the next generation to lead climate action.

“I love the environment, and constantly seeing headlines about losing species and their habitats is equally worrying and sad. I want to work in nature when I’m older, so it is terrifying how rapidly it is disappearing and I wonder how much will be left when I am an adult. I love writing poetry and singing, so this opportunity to express my feelings creatively is an amazing one, and I am so excited to be a part of it.” Esmé, 15 years old, UK

Our vision is to empower young people worldwide to become agents of positive change through collaborative and creative initiatives that address pressing social and environmental challenges. We aim to encourage and create long-lasting friendships among young leaders across the world, developing their agency through advocacy and policy engagement.

The film from our programme Place4Hope, accompanied by the song created during the Summer School, will be presented at the Canopy, showcasing the collective creativity and voices of the young leaders involved. The Canopy is Wellcome’s citizen art, science and policy festival and a cross-sector collaborative network launching for Climate Week NYC’s first ever health program in September 2024. It aims to support a transformation in how we understand, address and talk about climate and health. You can read more HERE

“This is a great opportunity for me as a young climate advocate, hence attending this summer school will provide me with the tools and unique perspectives to advocate for climate action. it will also provide me with the chance to network with like-minded individuals and experts, fostering collaboration and enhancing your impact as a young climate advocate. Above all, attending this summer school will  also help amplify my voice and impacts as a passionate advocate for a sustainable future” Praise, 19 years old, Nigeria
